Musical artist Home needed a looping animation for Spotify for their song "Resonance"; inspired by the song’s nostalgic feel, I captured the changing seasons from my bedroom window for a year. From there, clips that contained the most stereotypical weather were chosen and embellished with a complementary animated icon. The use of texture and camcorder overlays further enhances the reminiscent mood. Spotify’s user interface was recreated by hand, complete with an animated track timing bar. The twelve principles of animation were carefully considered when creating the movements of the icons. The open-endedness of Home’s lyric-free discography leaves room for similar interpretations for a cohesive Spotify canvas experience.
